Discover Paradise: Burot Beach

Last "hurrah" for summer 2014 - a perfect venue for friends, acquaintances, family, relatives, etc.,

BUROT BEACH.

Listed as one of Luzon's unspoiled beach, Burot promises travelers a "virgin" beach where there is no electricity and overflowing potable water, a secluded beach where most people who wanted total relaxation near Manila is palpable.

Located in the southwest of Luzon, Calatagan is almost 2-3 hours travel time from Manila. Passing by Tagaytay's cold weather, it's a perfect roadtrip for everyone.

Flaunting the crystal clear waters of Burot

OUR ADVENTURE

Shameless share, our so-called "group" planned to take an out-of-Laguna trip to at least experience  proximity which will get us out of our comfort zones.

Traveling to Burot is the majority decision, since we heard and read a lot of positive things about the place. Also, we had our friend's family there a week ahead of us, which contributed to our willingness to go there.

Uncertainties in terms of the number of attendees is the main concern, for originally the confirmed people to be traveling there are just three. Budget per head is closed to P1,000 for assurance purposes.

As the succeeding days pass, our number increased to 7, with 3 people not yet sure before tomorrow's trip. As soon as the clock hits 12 midnight, 2 of 3 are going, and the other one will be following after work and rendezvous at the beach itself.

We decided to hire a jeepney coming from our place in San Pedro. We departed from our place going to Calatagan at 5 in the morning, arrived in Calatagan proper at 7:30 in the morning. We took a slow ride at Tagaytay to feel the morning chilling breeze.

We arrived in Calatagan proper, and proceeded directly to their public market. We bought our much needed stuffs and food there. We also asked for directions going to Burot. After buying everything, we're now off to Burot beach proper.

It's a rough road going to Burot. We passed by BUROL beach (cemetery LOL). Then a front gate with a security guard that will give the group a piece of paper noting the rules and regulations inside Burot.

ARRIVAL AT BUROT BEACH PROPER

Another security guard will welcome you. There, he'll be counting the number of people and will collect the corresponding entrance fee. He'll be the one to ask you as well if you needed to rent some tents and tables.

As we disembarked, we immediately sought for a place to setup camp, deliberately tried our best to look for a cozy place, preferably under the tree and somewhere to setup bonfire at night.

Also, we rented a table for us to do our breakfast. Our bags placed inside our tents, and cooking is now being done at our campsite.

Burot beach is still new, obviously not having neat comfort rooms to do showers. There's also a mini store where you can buy your basic necessities such as water refill and ice. There are some stuffs there as well, might better check those out yourselves.

CAMPING

If you're not traveling to Burot by peak season, there are a lot of trees there to provide you enough shade to protect you from the burning sunlight. As of May 2014, there are still a lot of natural resources from within the beach area for your bonfire needs. This include dry woods which are good enough to burn for cooking/light purposes.

The water is very salty. Batangas sun is degree burning. Might as well apply lots of sunblock before dipping in to the water.

The beach itself boasts a lot of living natural resources which are unspoiled as of the moment. Yes, fishes are definitely visible because of the crystal clear water.

Watch out for a lot of jellyfish; they do exist in the deep areas. Also, be cautious for hidden sea urchins beside the seaweeds. STARFISH are placed around the sea and you can pick them up for photographs.

ISLAND HOPPING

It's optional. Boat rental per head cost at P100 (during our time). There will be three islands to visit; (1) is a not so far away place at middle of the sea wherein very similar to the white beach of Camiguin. White sand is visible and you can disembark there to take a swim. (2) Is an island similar to the first one but has small islands wherein you can see a lot of rest houses being owned by rich people (boaters don't want to name them exactly) whose either a politician or CEO's of big companies. (3) is the Starfish Island, where you can dive and get as many starfish (but can't take it home with you. Thanks online troll!).

As the day concludes...

Do not miss the magnificent sunset. It's very similar to a Boracay sunset where photographers can really capture the sunset's horizon.

At night, you can do bonfire activities.

Tried my best to capture the Milky Way galaxy, but this is all I got

Here's more of our fun and happy moments!

As other bloggers were saying,

"Come and visit Burot before its too late".

And definitely, YES - I agree.

Come visit Burot Beach while it's still untouched!

  3. "Dive and get as many starfish" BUT WHY? They belong to the sea! Your blog is informative, but you should not encourage your readers to "get as many starfish"
