One of the joys of being part of a Catholic institution is that there are limited chances for you to get involved in an expedition. I got this very rare opportunity to represent and work for my Alma mater as Marketing Officer for the regularly held - ANGAT KABATAAN CAMP, which was first called ANGAT KABATAAN URDANETA CRUISE AND CAMP 2009 under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
I am writing this blog not only to remember that event but also - commemorate and remember the National Heritages we visited that was devastated by the recent 7.2 magnitude that rocked the entire Visayas region in the Philippines. The chaos severely affected Cebu and Bohol, which were among the places visited of the previous Angat Kabataan Urdaneta Cruise and Camp way back 2009. Also, it is the time where I first and last saw the Cultural Treasures of Bohol.
It was then after my college graduation when I got invited to help as Marketing for AKC. I accepted it immediately for the reason that it is very rare to be given such opportunity. Career wise, this is a professional experience for I get to work with the government whose main focus is to take care of the national heritages within the whole country.
The objective of AKC is very clear - this is to invite youth leaders in the country to educate them regarding how to take care of the National Heritage which are considered as Cultural Treasures. Also, this event particularly discusses Philippine history with ease and fun. Also, it is a commemoration of Fray Andres de Urdaneta where he was once been an important piece of Philippine history.
I'm not going over with the extreme details. I just wanted to share you the photos which aims to strengthen again the tourism of Cebu and Bohol. Let the pictures show you my bliss as I experience Cebu and Bohol and being an ambassador for promoting National Heritage.
I am deeply saddened and shocked by the devastation of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that destroyed 10 churches that were declared as National Heritage to be preserved. Though due to natural disaster, people can't predict when it will occur.
I'm hoping Cebu and Bohol can recover early from the chaos. I am honoring both Cebu and Bohol and wish them the best. Let's unite and help them rejuvenate once again and restore the beauty of the places.
Thank you very much Studio 23 for the former coverage. Specifically, Y Speak!
Godbless Philippines and Visayas!
