The Baguio Expedition 2013

I remember when I was a kid, there comes a time that our family comes in and out of Baguio City, maybe we can say that, once a year we go back to Baguio especially in the month of February, to come and celebrate at their annual Panagbenga Festival (also known as Flower Festival).

Dubbed as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", Baguio City is well-known as a venue for relaxation and comfort, as winds blew by you to share the humid which is far beyond the streets of Manila. It's emphatic weather is highly appreciated by Filipinos amidst the tropical weather because the cold mountains give you the chills because of its real nature gust.

Oooh.. Strawberry!

I also remembered the times when we go uphill Baguio City, we always stayed at the cozy location of the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) Staffhouse, located at Cabinet Hill. It's strategic location boasts as when people drop by Baguio using Victory Liner bus, the station itself is located on top of Cabinet Hill, and you can only walk down the sturdy downhill road and you'll get to the staffhouse. Quite a comfort for old people, eh?

And now, this 2013, I've again stepped foot at the said place and had fun. This is the first time me and my family embarked to go at Baguio. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've been there. But hey, even though Ive been here so many times, we had a local tour and got the chance to drop by some new places! (Or maybe not so new for them, hmm?

Enjoy reading! :)

And we have arrived at the DTI Staffhouse. Great renovation has happened! Very different from the former staffhouse I've stayed when I was a 13 year old or so. I also enjoyed sleeping at the attic too!

All's well, going well. Great sunny weather! :)

Climbing up the Lourdes Grotto is one of my favorite activities and tourist spots since when I was little. The fact that the up most retreat house is very memorable to all of us, it is also one of my "panata" to pray here and give thanks to Mama Mary.

Photographer mode ON!

Camwhore mode using iPhone Fisheye :D

She found the "ka-crew"! And so I took them some shots.

Ifugao dress pictorial, anyone?

Something we didn't noticed way back then, is that there is this place called The Ten Commandments. Located at the upmost part of the Lourdes Grotto, you can find this place (a place for Shaloms) and they opened their place open to the public. You can have a great view of this gigantic tablets engraving the ten commandments of God.

An old structure. I wonder what this is? But it's nice to take a photo from it.

Just  like the Ten Commandments, I have never been to the Bencab Museum. It is located far from the city proper, so you would have to take the cab or maybe a private car to get in to the place. It is on Asin Road, where Cong. Manny Pacquiao used to jog at Baguio City prepping up for a fight.

Great view outside Bencab Museum

The Zen Garden. Oh so perfect.

Sorry, but we never had time to go upstair the Tam-awan Village. Schedule was a bit hectic.

La Trinidad, Benguet - is where you can see the plantation of strawberries. It was beyond my imagination that the strawberry farm has been so enigmatic with tourists since I was 13 years old. Oh, and dont forget to pick some strawberries!

Note: When you want to pick strawberries, you will pay for a fee of P350, double the price of getting a kilo of strawberry in the Market. Meaning, you'll be paying for the experience. So choose the best you wanted.

I think they call this Kudkod Kulangot. A "Bao" size sundot kulangot. I wonder Philippines dont want to export this. An ugly english name perhaps? (Stick Mucus?)

Kain lang teh.

The Mines View Park is still one of the most visited place in Baguio. Fact: The traffic is horrendous! Unlike years before, the traffic jam starts at the Mines View proper. That sucks though.

The original Douglas is probably dead. This might be Douglas' son or cousin or whatsoever. But they call him Douglas Jr.

First time to ride Nicki Minaj

She's using my ultra-magnetic-galactic lenses.

As Saturday conclude, we had a sweet romantic biking at Burnham Park. Oh, we even bullied kids.
